Who are you and what's your occupation?
Sorcha Hannigan, Teacher of History at Tytherington School
What are your hobbies and interests?
I'm a casual gamer (Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, and Resident Evil 8 to name a few of my favourites), a huge bookworm and an amateur gardener, attempting to grow veggies for the first time!
What has your role been within the development process?
I've been working alongside the other teachers to consider how the game might be used in a school setting. We've been thinking about the application of gameplay within the classroom - within lessons, structured homeworks, or as part of after school electives. This has culminated in the creation of a skeleton scheme of work, which will be developed further within each school.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
It's been fascinating considering the link between games/gameplay and education, and considering how this project might have tangible benefits for my students in terms of understanding the complex nature of the Industrial Revolution. It's also been great to get an insiders look into the game development process in general!

What has your role been within the development process?
Designing the project and bringing lots of much more talented people together to accomplish our goals.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Bringing game developers, game artists, education specialists, teachers, students and historians together!

Jacob Field
Who are you and what's your occupation?
I’m Jacob Field, and I’m a teacher of History and Economics at a school in London, as well as a writer (I’ve written a dozen books on history, economics, and other topics).
What are your hobbies and interests?
My hobbies are writing/reading, record collecting, and cooking/eating. My main interests are in early modern England and the historical development of London - particularly its economy, culture and the Great Fire of 1666.
What has your role been within the development process?
I have been an educational and historical consultant and advisor.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
I have loved working on the gameplay development and thinking about how to engage young people in learning about economic history.

Dr. Juan Hiriart
Who are you and what's your occupation?
Juan Hiriart - Game designer and lecturer in Interactive Media Art and Design
What are your hobbies and interests?
Playing all sort of games especially the ones with good stories. Digital painting and coding. Also making pancakes.
What has your role been within the development process?
Designing and implementing the participative design process to get the most of the people involved in the project. I also drew characters and animated narrative sequences.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Learning so much from all the people involved and looking how the project evolved from ideas to a playable prototype!
UI Engineer
Nela Ion
Who are you and what's your occupation?
Nela Ion, UI Engineer
What are your hobbies and interests?
Video Games, visual arts
What has your role been within the development process?
I was both designing and implementing the main flow of the game prototype. I contributed to the initial brainstorming and carried on iterating the prototype until we achieved a desirable result.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Having people testing and getting feedback. I love seeing my hours of coding work in a physical form, see people ask questions, laugh at bugs or having fun in the main flow of the game.

Matthew Jarvis
Who are you and what's your occupation?
Matthew Jarvis, Lead UI Engineer @ Sprung Studios
What are your hobbies and interests?
Gaming!
What has your role been within the development process?
I'm been part of the core development team on the project. Making sure the game functions as described and iterated upon based on feedback and design choices.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Building the timeline system. This was the first functional feature in the prototype and served as the backbone for the core game loop. Everything is more or less linked to, and works alongside the timeline as means of gameplay.

Dave Neale
Who are you and what's your occupation?

What are your hobbies and interests?
Playing games! Also hiking, climbing, dancing, playing guitar, and traveling.
What has your role been within the development process?
I helped with concept and prototype development.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Seeing the game take shape, and meeting interesting people at the workshop.

Who are you and what's your occupation?

What are your hobbies and interests?
I love all things football, big Manchester United fan. Obsessed with Eurovision and Downton Abbey (this was my dissertation topic at University - the Downton Abbey part not Eurovision!)
What has your role been within the development process?
I have been a consultant as a history teacher, thinking about how this would fit into schemes of work and what we want students to know about through a game.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Starting to understand how a game is put together and made. As a mid level gamer myself this has been a fascinating process.

Kirsty Pearson

What are your hobbies and interests?
Family, travel, history, politics, swimming!
What has your role been within the development process?
Supporting teacher. My classes will be taught a unit on the Industrial Revolution and the game will be used alongside this unit. Students can test the game and feedback its usefulness to their overall knowledge and understanding of the Industrial Revolution.
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Collaborating with fellow teachers and historians, discussing creative ways to continue to engage young people.

What are your hobbies and interests?
When I have a free moment, I enjoy reading, portrait illustration, baking, gaming, cinemagoing and tabletop roleplaying with my friends.
What has your role been within the development process?
I've been a part of the development process since the second GIR workshop. My role has initially been as a student consultant, but more recently I've principally been invloved in the management and development of the Industrial R[e]volution web blog (under the supervision of Dr Litvine).
What's been your favourite part about working on the project?
Its been thrilling to work with so many accomplished historians, lecturers, researchers and educational experts on this project, and I've gained a great deal of insight into how historical projects such as these function.
